Unfocused? Get Back to Nature

Unfocused? Get Back to Nature

So I had an amazing day today hiking with the family and visiting Shiloh Civil War Park. For the past few days I’ve felt unfocused and headed towards burnout with everything happening. Yes, even professionals have trouble now and again with motivation and focus.

I was going to continue to work. However, I promised the family 2 days of spring break devoted to getting away from the house. Boy was it the best thing for me. As I said I had begun to lose focus and all my stuff was starting to swirl around in my head.

In comes the beautiful goddess Mother Nature. As we walked through a trail and saw the mounds where native American Indians used to dwell, I felt myself beginning to release a lot of tension and discomfort. I also took the time to read all the various facts along the trails and it allowed my brain to truly shift from work mode. Even when I leave the house to go to the store, I am still thinking about my business. From sun up to sun down that is pretty much all that is on my mind.

The best part was this lovely view of the Tennessee river. It was breathtaking and I took that moment to just be in the now and soak up as much of the beauty as I can. I made a conscious effort to block everything except what was in front of me. I even faced my fear of heights.

What does this have to do with focus you ask?

By simply unplugging and admiring beauty around me, my brain had a much needed rest. On top of that the peace on the hiking trail allowed my brain to process the overload of everything and organize my thoughts in the background.

If you are feeling stuck it cannot focus, go outside and just look around it find a local hiking trail. Whatever it is, just get away from the screens and let your brain rest. It truly allowed me the ability to calm the monkey mind and come back energized with renewed focus.

Do Not Let Them Get You Down

Do Not Let Them Get You Down

So I recently, as in 5 minutes ago, had someone wrongfully posting something about me on one of my beloved FB groups. Immediately I started to feel that strange surge of WTF is going on! I had to think back to this person and when I collaborated with them. Needless to say I found proof of no wrongdoing on my part, but it prompted me to write this post for all entrepreneurs who are facing bad reviews or negative nancys.

Establish Who Is In The Right

If it is a client, just know most of the time you should say they are in the right, considering they pay you money for good output. However, if it is not a client, look into the situation and see if you are in fact in the wrong. If you aren’t, then do what you can to handle the situation with grace. Ask whoever is bringing you down to cease and desist. If it gets too bad, discontinue communication and discuss with the group admin.

Try To Fix The Situation If You Are Wrong

Let’s face it, nobody is perfect and you may in fact be in the wrong. This is where you go above and beyond to make it right. If you can’t then learn from the mistake. Most of the time, people will give second chances if you are sincere in your apology and offer to make it right.

Take A Step Back

Take a step back from the situation. This is what I did. I simply disengaged for a few minutes, meditated on it, and came up with a solution. I also sought advice from my other Facebook Peeps on how to handle situations like this.

Carry On (my wayward son or daughter)

Once you handle the situation, simply keep going. You are not going to have people like you 100% of the time and yes unfortunately hateful people can still exist. So what do you do? CARRY ON! Why? Because 1-2 people saying you are not the worlds greatest isn’t going to ruin your reputation. Take the time to simply put in your all and not let the negative infect you. You are amazing for putting yourself out there and that’s what’s important.

With Love XOXO,

Ambika

Side Note: For those of you who get irritated and want to hate on someone, just remember they are doing their best and rather than making them feel bad, guide them. We are all entrepreneurs and we all need to boost and encourage others.
